OK So this is the MOST INSANSE part of HuaShan…and what it’s most famous for…the 长空栈道 or Plank in the Sky. Why plank in the sky? CUZ ITS A FREAKIN PLANK IN THE SKY
Now this is an optional route, you pay 30元 (5$) for a harness and you are able to walk the scariest road of your life.

Tonio, this is sure insane. Wish I were insane enough to feel the need to it. I noticed some very young kids doing it. So you attach harness one time only… it saves you from any fall? Does anyone ever fall?

So at the start when you head down they give you a harness. Then there’s cable lines that you attach the harness to while you walk along the plank and hold on to the chains. Not too long ago after a lot of people found out about this place they went through and made it “safer”, not just this spot but the mountain in general. Cuz before there were a lot of deaths. Can you imagine in the past when there weren’t any safety standards?
